An average day of the trip
On a typical day, you’ll have the option to start with light stretches and exercises with Linda Kriel (optional 😁), followed by a morning hike/walk with your guide lasting about 3 hours. We then stop at a local restaurant or farmhouse for lunch (lasting approximately 1.5 hours), where you’ll enjoy delicious local food and wines.
In the afternoon, there might be additional walking or a town stroll. Around 4:30 or 5:00 pm, your guide will accompany you back to the hotel. Before dinner, you’ll have a couple of hours to rest.
Dinner will be served in a restaurant in town, easily reachable on foot. Local wine, our house vino della casa, is always included for lunch or dinner, but you’re welcome to buy your own wine from the wine list if you prefer.
How difficult is the walk?
A walk rating of 2− (two minus) on a scale from 1 to 5 typically indicates a walk that is slightly more challenging than very easy, but still quite manageable for most people. Here’s what it might involve:
Terrain: Mostly flat or gently undulating, with well-maintained paths. Any uneven or rough sections would be minimal and short.
Distance: Usually on the shorter side — around 3 to 4 miles (4.5–5.5 km), depending on the environment.
Elevation gain: Very limited. There might be a few mild slopes, but no real climbs or descents to speak of.
Skill level: Suitable for beginners, casual walkers, families, or anyone looking for a light outing with very little effort required. Fit people can walk fast and even take a jog, or do some exercises with Linda while waiting for the others to catch up.
In short, a 2− rating reflects a walk that is just a step up from the easiest level, offering a bit of variety without introducing any real difficulty.

Your Castle Awaits Join Linda Kriel for a mythical Walkabout through central France’s countryside, where your home base is no ordinary accommodation… it’s a castle! Spend 6 enchanting nights at Château de Najade, nestled along forested riverbanks and crowned by twin towers and serene interiors. Situated in the village of Sainte-Sévère-sur-Indre, in the Loire Valley. History and tranquillity meet in this ancient, medieval village in central France. With its narrow streets, centuries-old market square, and stately Château overlooking the valley, the village will invite you to slow down and savour authentic French rural life.
The Loire Valley: The Loire Valley is a region famous for its cultural landscape, including historic towns, vineyards, and numerous Renaissance châteaux. This region is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is often called the “Garden of France”.
Scenic Daily Walks Enjoy easy-going walking in the heart of the Loire; the ‘garden of France’. The itinerary will include 5 walks, and these will range between 7 and 10 km. The walks will take you through rolling hills, with none of them exceptionally challenging. You will enjoy walks along the Indre River, which eventually flows into the Loire, through forested areas, farmlands and villages.
Afternoon Bliss After your walk, relax in the Château’s glowing garden or take a dip in the natural pool beneath the trees. It’s your time to rest, reflect, and recharge.

Dag 1 – Welkom in die Wynlande!
Inklok vanaf 14:00 by ons gastehuis in sentrale Stellenbosch.
Ontmoet mekaar op die stoep om 16:00 – met ’n glasie wyn in die hand en ’n glimlag op die gesig.
Laatmiddag ontspannende stap deur die dorpskern – vol geskiedenis, sjarme en mooi winkeltjies.
Verken Stellenbosch en geniet ons eerste aandete by ’n ikoniese restaurant.
Dag 2 – Berg, beweging en bietjie bederf
Na ontbyt: opknappings-oefeninge met Linda Kriel (opsioneel, maar lekker!).
Ons begin ’n ±9 km staproete deur Stellenbosch en klim deel van die Stellenboschberg met ’n hoogteverskil van ±150 meter – asemrowend mooi.
Eindig by die Kruiskerk vir ’n strek-sessie.
Middagete by die bekende Helena’s Restaurant – ’n ware smaakervaring.
Middag vry vir ontspan, inkopies of verdere verkenning.
Aandete is vir jou eie rekening – maar ná die smullekker middagete by Helena’s gaan jy waarskynlik net ’n ligte happie soek 😁
Dag 3 – Franschhoek roep!
Na ontbyt: pak op en maak gereed vir die volgende avontuur.
Ons bus neem ons na ’n pragtige wynplaas in Franschhoek.
Opknappings-oefeninge en strek met Linda (opsioneel – maar jou spiere sal dankie sê!).
Geniet ’n skouspelagtige 14km stap op die plaas, gevolg deur wynproe en kaas-/charcuterie platters vir middagete.
Daarna neem die bus ons na ons nuwe akkommodasie in Franschhoek.
Aand vry vir verkenning – Franschhoek se strate wag op jou.
Aandete is vir jou eie rekening.
Dag 4 – Klim, kuier en kulinêre kroon
Na ontbyt: opknappings-oefeninge met Linda (opsioneel – vir daardie laaste bietjie energie!).
’n Shuttle neem ons na die beginpunt van ons laaste uitdagende 12km staproete met ’n hoogteverskil van 700 meter – jy gaan trots wees!

Weskus & Blomme Stap – ’n Vierdaagse Fees van Voete, Vreugde en Veldblomme!
Kom stap saam met my, Linda Kriel, in Augustus, wanneer die Weskus sy kleurvolle blomkombers uitrol en die see se asem jou siel verfris. Hierdie 4-dae avontuur neem jou op asemrowende strandroetes, deur die geurige veld en na juweeltjies soos Paternoster en die pragtige Tietiesbaai. Ons bly in smaakvolle akkommodasie, smul aan egte Weskus kos, klink glase wyn en lag tot laat.
Elke oggend begin met heerlike strekoefeninge, en vir die wat lus is vir ’n ekstra bietjie toning, bied ek opsionele spieropknappings-oefeninge aan. Kom stap saam met my – Linda Kriel – die asemrowende Wildekus in die Oos Kaap, een van die mooiste dele in Suid Afrika. ‘n Lekker aktiewe 4 dae van baie stap, heerlike kos, klein bietjie oefen (die wat wil) en baie lag. Smiddae ontspan ons en geniet die Wildkus-gasvryheid by 4 verskillende kus-hotelle.

Groep: slegs plek vir 12. My stappe is baie gewild en word gewoonlik vinnig vol bespreek. Moet dus nie uitmis nie. Bespreek vandag!
Fiksheidsvlak: Jy moet vir ‘n minimum van 3 ure (tussen 12 tot 17 km) per dag kan stap – insluitend opdraandes en afdraandes!
Hotelle: Ons slaap elke aand in ‘n ander kusdorp-hotel. Moenie bekommerd wees nie, ons bagasie word daagliks vervoer en ons stap net met ‘n klein rugsakkie.

Trip Itinerary (subject to change)
Day 1: East London Airport transfer at ±15:00 by shuttle for an estimated 2 hour drive to Seagulls Hotel. Check-in and leisure time or activity (depending on time of arrival).
Day 2: Breakfast. Stretching and toning. Depart Seagulls Hotel for a ±14 km hike to Morgan Bay. This walk will finish before lunchtime. Check-in and have an afternoon of leisure or activity (depending on time of arrival).
Day 3: Breakfast. Stretching and toning. Depart Morgan Bay for a ± 14 km hike to Haga Haga. The 1st 5 km’s is walked along towering granite cliffs where some of the most fantastic views up and down the coast are enjoyed. This walk will finish before lunchtime. Check in at Haga Haga Hotel for the evening.
Day 4: Breakfast. Stretching and toning. Depart for a ± 16.5km hike to Chintsa East. After leaving Haga Haga there are some rocky sections to a small beach called Pullens Bay. Some 6km along a wavecut platform with wonderful gullies you will reach the beach again at Cape Henderson, passing 3 river estuaries. Your destination on this day is Crawfords Cabins, a private resort in amongst the dunes forest looking out at the Chintsa East Beach.
Day 5: Breakfast. We say goodbye after the transfer to East London Airport. We will be at the airport at ± 12:30
