1. Eating yoghurt before going to bed to help you sleep. Yoghurt contains tryptophan – the amino acid that is sleep-inducing . Yoghurt reduces gastrointestinal symptoms, such as a bloated feeling and constipation. It is easy to digest and nutritious, making it a good bed time snack. Eating yoghurt before bed is healthy.
2. You can eat yoghurt after strenuous exercise to increase muscle. Muscles undergo stress and damage with intense workouts. Proper post-workout nutrition fosters the healing process of muscle fibers. Appropriate eating and timing of meals around workouts increases stamina and can help maximize your workout. Yoghurt’s nutrient content provides essential carbohydrates and proteins that the body can assimilate for muscle repair.
3. Eating yoghurt before meals to lose weight. As it is a protein-rich source, yoghurt has been found to improve your metabolism. Therefore, it helps you burn more calories throughout the day. Yoghurt is often marketed as a healthy food. However, the sugar and flavorings added to many yogurts can make them more like junk food. Go for plain yoghurt. If you like a bit of sweetness, add a teaspoon of Xilitol, honey or fresh fruit.
